Job Description

DMC healthcare is a successful and trusted provider of NHS services across England and Scotland with a team of passionate and helpful staff dedicated to giving patients the very best in care.DMC are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our busy practice. We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate and approachable individual who will complement our team. The individual must be a team player, have excellent communication skills, good time management skills and the ability to work under pressure. Experience specifically within GP and medical services is ideal however not essential as we want the right person for the post.If that is you then we would welcome your application and look forward to meeting you in person.

    • DMC Healthcare continue to see steady growth in the services we provide, and we have an opportunity for a Health Care Assistant to join the team part time (20 hours a week) at our Albion Place Medical Practice in Maidstone, Kent.More about the role:The successful candidate will cover general practice HCA duties which would include being able to take and record such procedures as BP, smoking and smoking cessation, and taking bloods, flu (and other) vaccinations, B12 injections, health checks and helping with all other chronic condition monitoring e.g. diabetes, asthma, kidney disease and COPD - this list is not exhaustive. You will be working under the supervision of our clinical team within a friendly team in a modern, digital practice.The ideal candidate will:
  • Be trained in Phlebotomy with relevant experience.
  • You will have previous experience as an HCA
  • An understanding of the EMIS Web clinical system
  • You will have good customer service and communication skills
  • You will be empathetic to patients
  • You will be an independent team player passionate about delivering the highest levels of patient care
    • Main duties of the job
  • New patient health checks
  • NHS Health checks
  • Blood pressure, height and weight measurements
  • Phlebotomy
  • Ear Syringing
  • INR Monitoring using INR Star
  • ECGs and ABPM
  • Flu, B12 and Pneumococcal vaccinations
  • Chaperoning duties
  • Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
  • Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well-being
  • Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
  • Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being, and to enhance Practice QOF achievement
