Job Description

JOB AND PERSON SPECIFICATIONProduct Owner / Business AnalystDate: May 2021 Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Supporting the development process by translating new requirements into detailed specifications.
  • Supporting the overall business with market intelligence and in producing Epics and User Stories for enhancements to the product.
  • Acting as Product Owner for the delivery of new functionality, being the proxy for product management and the customer with the development team.
  • Prioritising defects based on business value to the product, helping to groom the backlog based on these requirements.
    • Detailed Deliverables and Tasks
  • Provide Development with detailed business analysis to translate business requirements into technical requirements.
  • Defining and refining user stories and epics for the sprint backlog.
  • Produce mock ups, wireframes and assist with prototyping.
  • Work with the design team to refine UI and UX.
  • Participate in sprint review, planning and retrospective meetings with your team.
  • Researching emerging markets and advising on product strategy.
  • Providing credible advice as a SME to customers, influencing customers to refine customer requirements and develop awareness of best practice in GRC and the use of the product.
  • Working with the team to ensure the quality of deliverables.
    • This is not an exhaustive list and may change over time as the role evolves. Essential Skills and Personal Attributes
  • Bachelor level degree or above.
  • 4+ years product owner, software business analyst or similar experience required.
  • Experience of either Risk Management, Compliance or Internal Audit within the Finance Sector.
  • Strong communication skills with excellent written and spoken English is essential.
  • Understanding and practical experience of agile development processes and scrum is essential.
  • Quality minded with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and understand complex business procedures.
  • Ability to solve problems using a logical and analytical approach.
  • Enjoy being part of the scrum team, understand developer and QA fears and frustrations, and how to mitigate them to ensure high quality smooth delivery.
  • Have been immersed within one or more products to gain expert level knowledge of how it works, why it works that way and why it is the best at what it does.
