Job Description

Financial Accountant - Hybrid Working Maesteg Salary circa £45,000 - £50,000 DOE + Annual Bonus Scheme Fantastic Benefits on offer Now Careers are recruiting on behalf of growing manufacturing business in the Maesteg area. This is a newly created role due to expansion and this is a really exciting time to be joining the business!My client is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join their growing team however, they will also consider applicants that are nearing completion of their ACA/ACCA/CIMA professional qualifications.Reporting into the Financial Controller, the role will primarily involve supporting the FC and working with the wider Finance team to ensure financial reporting accuracy and the operation of an effective internal control environment. The successful candidatewill play a critical role in the monthly close process and annual accounts by guiding the team and contributing to the accounts preparation and delivery of valuable reporting to support the groups aims and objectives.Main duties of the role will include -

  • Support the FC in the closure of month end accounts in an accurate and timely fashion
  • Supporting the preparation of the annual budget and in year forecasts
  • Working with budget owners to understand variances and related drivers
  • Ensuring that financial policies are adhered to within the finance team and wider business
  • Support the FC in the completion of the year-end accounts and annual statutory audits for the Group
  • Preparation and submission of the Groups VAT returns
  • Lead the team in the best use and adoption of ERP and other financial systems
  • Assisting members from other teams with finance related queries
  • Additional duties as assigned from time to time
  • Manage direct reports as the team grows and restructures
Desirable skills required -
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or nearing completion
  • Excellent IT skills (particularly Excel)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team player and enjoy rolling up your sleeves and supporting the finance team with ad hoc projects
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Self-starter who is inquisitive and with a problem-solving mindset
  • A positive attitude to change and improvement
  • Solutions orientated who is able to work collaboratively
