Job Description

Childrens Support WorkerLocation: South Cheshire/North Shropshire (CW3/TF9)Salary: £22,100 - £24,300 pa (inclusive of sleep ins)Hours: Full Time, Part Time, CasualContract: PermanentAre you looking for a rewarding career Could you help to change the life of children in residential careIf you are you able to relate to children and work as part of a team you could become a Childrens Support Worker in one of our 2-4 bed residential homes most of which are rated Outstanding or Good in the Staffordshire and surrounding areas. We are lookingfor individuals who are caring, compassionate, empathetic, friendly, fun, a good role model/communicator to join staff teams working with children aged 7-17 years. Whilst we would love you to have some experience either working with children or in social careno experience is necessary as full training in trauma informed child development, attachment and therapeutic care/parenting and education will be given.We believe that every child has the right to fulfil their potential and thrive. Working as a Childrens Support Worker, we will expect you to go the extra mile to ensure our children have a positive experience of childhood and make memories they will carrywith them through into adulthood and later life.In return, we offer a rewarding career with opportunities for progression in a growing organisation that is committed to equal opportunities, staff development, retention, and inclusion.If this sounds like you, we would like to talk to you.What to expect:You will be part of a team working as a therapeutic parent to the young people, who have Emotional Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), supporting and guiding them in their day to day lives so that they are able to thrive:

  • Taking the children to and from school (all homes have their own vehicles for staff use)
  • Supporting the young people with activities within and outside of the home - including family contact, holidays, day trips, attending appointments
  • The day to day running of the home (cooking, cleaning, shopping)
  • Being a role model to the young people and helping them to develop life skills and supporting with their emotional needs
What we expect of you:
  • Commitment to your role and our children who have experienced significant developmental delay and require stable, dedicated and passionate people to help them grow
  • To work shifts on a Rota system, including sleep ins and weekends
  • To be over 21 years of age
  • Hold a full UK manual driving license
