Job Description

We are looking for a food technologist to join our team and help us development a new range of plant based food. We are looking to expand our product ranges into plant based and sustainable products. John Gilmour Butchers is a family business that has 45 employees and predominantly supplies restaurants and hotels. We are looking to expand into retail and home delivery.The chosen candidate should be passionate about creating a truly sustainable British product that can be sourced from the UK year round.You may have had experience or be interested in the following: Raw Materials Technologist, NPD Manager, Food and Nutrition, Specifications Technologist, Quality Assurance, Food Technologist, Food Safety, Raw Material Technician, Food Science etc.The successful candidate will:• Research and design the products from scratch with a focus on sustainability.• Set up methods to create heme molecules for use in our product.• Be willing to think outside the box in bringing new innovations to a rapidly growing sector.Note: Although the initial contract is stated as 12 months, a successful product development would result in the offer of a full time position.
