Job Description

Based at our Head Office in Macclesfield.Superbike Factory Ltd; founded in 2010 has grown into the largest retailer of new & used motorbikes in Europe.We have over 2000 new and used motorbikes in our Macclesfield, Donington Park and Bradford show rooms at any one time, and we are open daily for customers old and new to come and marvel at the number and selection of bikes we have in store.Superbike Factory is also a data rich, digital business, offering the only true end to end to online consumer experience in the sector, supported by our purpose built Super-Sites in Macclesfield and Donington Park, our recent acquisition in Bradford, andtwo further site openings early 2023.Superbike Factory is simply thego toplace for motorbike fanatics!The business is now embarking on its next phase of growth, currently employing over 350 people.You donthaveto love motorbikes to work here, although many of our team have turned their passion in to their career!We are currently looking for a Transport Manager to coordinate the 50+ Drivers nationwide, this will also be overseeing a team of Logistics Planners.

  • Support and manage the day-to-day operations of the transport function within the SBF Group
  • Work closely with two direct reports in transport fleet and transport planning teams
  • Liaise with driver training team for training and developing of all new and existing drivers
  • Ensure all H&S requirements are met for the drivers
  • Oversee management of driver hours within UK regulation
  • Working closely with the people team recruit new drivers to ensure the capacity is maintained in the driving team
  • Create a proactive continuous improvement culture within the team to ensure the team are operating as efficiently and are always striving to make it better
  • Oversee daily operation of Transport planning team
  • Ensure Vehicle fleet is managed to ensure vehicles are always available.
  • Manage the team to deliver against key financial and performance related local and national targets ensuring deadlines are met
  • Work closely with the SMT to provide data, insight and support help deliver transport optimisation and improvement projects
  • Ensuring all Legal, Maintenance, UK & EU Driving Regulations and Operational procedures are always adhered to, ensuring the safety of self and others.
  • Support the delivery of the Business Plan - setting and achieving specific measurable targets for the team.
  • Maximise productivity and manage resource in order to reduce costs.
  • Effectively communicating operational and business plans and changes to all colleagues, supporting the implementation of the communications plan.
  • Performance Management of all colleagues within the team to ensure the achievement of operational targets.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills
