Looking for a role in Acute Medicine We are looking for staff to work on our Medical Assessment Unit (Ward 8). The MAU team works closely with the A&E department and treats a variety of patients in a fast paced environment. The role will provide you with valuable experience in Acute Medicine and build your knowledge, skills and confidence in this area. Whilst experienced nurses are desired with post registration experience, newly qualified nurses will be considered.As part of your role you will required to assess patients in order to prioritise an acute and busy workload and put into practice treatment plans in collaboration with the medical team. You will also work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to provide efficient and holistic care to patients. The successful candidate will be confident with their communication skills and will have a desire to learn extended skills such as venepuncture, cannulation and catheterisation.We offer a high level of support on the ward for new starters along with a structured induction which will help to develop your skills and teach you the knowledge you will need to succeed. There will also be training available and, once you have gained experience, there will be opportunities to progress further within your career in the organisation.You will be required to work shifts and flexibility is required.
