Job Description

On behalf of our client, we are looking to recruit a Licensed Animal Technician to work within the experimental team of the Biological Resources Unit and provide technical support for a range of in vivo oncology models within their preclinical pharmacologydepartment and other research teams as required.The deadline for applications is Friday 10th March 2023.Basic Requirements:

  • Qualification in Animal Technology or equivalent.
  • Hold a current Personal Licence under ASPA
  • Experience in the field of animal technology
  • Oncology research is advantageous.
  • Have excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.
  • Be computer literate and competent in the use of office software.
  • Able to work in a team or a standalone role.
  • Follow Health and safety regulations and follow SOP.
  • Must be able to work weekends and bank holidays as part of our hours rota.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Carry out day-to-day husbandry and care and welfare observations for all animals in the facility.
  • Conduct surgical and non-surgical procedures.
  • Make observations and keep accurate records along with capturing data as required.
  • Keep up to date with developments in animal technology, recommend and develop procedures.
  • Train other staff in licensed and non-licensed techniques
  • Contribute towards cleaning and upkeep of the facilities.
  • Assist with the duties in other areas of the unit as required.
  • Safely use equipment at all times.
