Job Description

Injection Moulding Setter-MacclesfieldSalary - £22-25k Work Hours- 0830-1700 + potential OTThe Company:Established in 2000 this is an award-winning retail Point of Sale (POS) display specialist companyInjection Moulding Setter Position: The Injection Mould setter will work within the Production department in a team of 7. Applicants will need to be experienced in injection moulding, possess excellent technical knowledge of plastics and polymers. As setter you will be involved in the setting and changing of mould tools. You will also be required to help out across Production if required which might not solely utilise the injection moulding process.The Injection Moulding Setter role:

  • Must have experience of various injection moulding machines
  • Ensure optimization of machines and equipment to achieve continuous production.
  • Working strictly to the Health & Safety Policy ensuring P.P.E. is supplied and worn at all times.
  • Set machine and processing equipment to specification.
  • Carryout tool changes to procedures and to standard tool change times.
  • Identification of tooling conditions and repairs required.
  • Perform regular quality checks at each stage of the injection moulding process, including 1st offs, last-offs
  • Perform any other duties across the site as may be reasonably requested by the Production department Supervisor/Manager outside of Injection moulding.
    • Injection Moulding Setter role:
  • Minimum of 5 years plastics injection moulding experience.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing desirable.
  • Knowledge of the properties and processing behaviour of polymer materials.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Health and Safety issues Codes of practice relevant to the industry.
  • Team player - Willing to train other employees and learn additional skills where required.
  • Experience of Setting machines / Optimising processes / Process trials & validation.
