Job Description

The Institute of Export & International Trade (IOE&IT) is the leading UK membership association for those working in exporting and importing. These are exciting times in international trade and we’re seeing sustained growth in the demand for our servicesand qualifications. As a result, our team needs to grow too and we are now recruiting for an in-house Web Developer.JOB BRIEFThe role will be working within our Marketing department and you will be responsible for:- Leading on the content migration to our new website in Umbraco,- Taking ownership of the IOE&IT’s new website, working within the team to manage content, construct new features and develop functionalities to help with shaping effective user experiences as required by the wider business.- Ongoing functionality improvements and website developments to ascertain to the objectives of the marketing and business objectives.- Managing the technical requirements and internal systems, including; Umbraco, Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Vendr.- Developing bespoke, dynamic landing pages to accompany paid and organic marketing activities, using both wireframe components and bespoke custom HTML, CSS and Javascript.RESPONSIBILITIES:Initially, this role will have a core focus on our website migration project, assisting with the efficient transition between two Content Management Systems (CMS). This project will require clear understanding of ASP.net and C## and experience with the managementof Umbraco systems.This will involve:

  • Mapping existing content to a new website structure/sitemap in Umbraco v11,
  • Restructuring and tidying up dated or redundant code from our previous CMS,
  • Co-ordinating with external suppliers and managing a number of other developers who may be hired to assist with the migration,
  • Tracking progress and reporting to the Marketing Manager,
  • Understanding of SEO redirects and implications especially during the migration; this is not essential but preferred,
  • Curating the development of the user experience and interface across the new CMS with guidance from the marketing and design function.
  • Maintaining the performance and security of the CMS, ensuring any technical issues or precautions are raised and resolved.
  • Managing and overseeing our CRM (Microsoft Dynamics365) to ensure seamless integration between both platforms.
Other longer term responsibilities include:
  • Working with the content and marketing team to code bespoke landing pages for marketing assets and improving website experiences,
  • Carrying out regular maintenance of the website to ensure maintained security, regular updates and to report back on any recommendations or issues,
  • Helping with technical or code requirements to enhance the performance of the website or effectively the customer journey,
  • Working with the E-Commerce platform on Umbraco to ensure effectively coded functionality,
  • Developing new Umbraco components for building permanent web pages and temporary sites for key IOE&IT events,
  • Ensuring consistency across the new website,
  • Considering innovative and new concepts to assist with scaling the Umbraco site and growing the IOE&IT brand.
DESIRED SKILLS SET AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge of ASP.NET and C## required
  • Experience with CSS and HTML required
  • Understanding of Umbraco or similar CMS systems
  • Understanding of MicrosoftDynamics 365 or similar systems.
  • Significant experience with content migration and web design
  • Proven design skills that can be evidenced through a portfolio/case study
  • Some line management experience preferred; proven ability to lead a small team desirable
  • Great attention to detail, with a thorough and methodical approach to your work
  • Adept at independent problem solving
  • Keen to learn and develop
  • Contributes ideas and innovations
  • Team player, collaborating with the marketing function on a day to day basis
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • People oriented with strong communication skills at all levels
