Kenton Black are delighted to be working with a small well-respected accountancy practice currently looking for a Senior Accountant with a full accountancy practice background, working for their offices in Lymm. This role has potential to develop into Practice Manager should you wish to go down this route in the foreseeable future.As Senior Accountant you will play a crucial role that oversees the daily operations of the practice and work closely with the Directors to drive the firm’s growth and development. This role means you feel comfortable with the customer service as well as technical sides of accountancy. You will also be competent in leading a team and thrive on nurturing and developing the accountants of tomorrow. They value and encourage a work-life balance and are open to discussion around flexible working.As Senior Accountant you will have the following skills:-- You will have excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering outstanding client service. - Technology is right up your street, as you know it’s a key component to add value to clients and improve efficiency. - ACCA or other accountancy qualification - 5+ years of experience in a practice environment- Equally comfortable with the customer service and technical sides of accountancy- Ability to manage junior staff members and build rapport- Be able to motivate and nurture junior staff members - Strong working knowledge of cloud-based systems- Can manage portfolio of tasksKey Responsibilities:This is a hands-on, hybrid/office-based role, delivering accounts/tax and all-round services to a varied portfolio of clients. You will be a key right-hand support to the firm’s director and help oversee a small team. Your main duties will include:- Managing a portfolio of limited company clients with turnover up to £1m, responsible for the bookkeeping team, monthly management accounts up to year end accounts production.- Review of quarterly VAT Returns and submissions- Completion of more complex self-assessment tax returns for clients- Advising clients on ad-hoc tax planning matters- Liaising with clients on a regular basis to provide insights into their business and how to better improve profitability- Opportunity to develop fee winning role and gaining new clients if this route is of interest- Managing and nurturing a junior team of accountants- Regular client contact- Manage production and workflow for your team to ensure deliverables are met- Reviews on any prepared accounts and tax returns- There is scope to progress in your career if you choose, with promotion to Practice Manager a very real possibility.What’s in it for you This is your chance to work for a predominantly cloud-based practice with a focus on excellent customer service.
