Job Description

Acorn by Synergie are looking for a Mechanic at its clients site in Lymington, HampshireWorking Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm and paying £16.24 per hour Main duties include:* To carry out vehicle and plant servicing and safety inspections as directed by manufacturers specifications and the Councils Inspection forms. * To report or repair defects found on vehicles and plant during routine maintenance and from Defect Report forms. * To prepare and present vehicles for Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) MOT and LGV plating tests and to repair/recover vehicles and plant that are broken down on the roadside or at depots.* To carry out taxi testing and complete the associated paperwork on behalf of the Council. * To assist with apprentice training as instructed by the Workshop Supervisor.* To report any damage found on vehicles and plant, either accidental or non-fair wear and tear to the Workshop Supervisor.* To road test vehicles prior to repair. Clean vehicles and make presentable after repair* To complete fully all necessary inspection forms and online job cards as soon as a job is completed.* To keep workshop area clean, tidy and free from oil spillages, ensuring that all tools are locked in designated areas, and ensure that workshop security is always maintained.* To comply fully with Health and Safety Legislation, Risk Assessments and / or Safe Methods of Working.* Any other duties as directed by the Workshop Supervisor or Transport ManagerSkills Required:A good general education is required with a trade qualification equivalent to a full City and Guilds Mechanics Certificate or BTEC equivalent.For more information please contact Nick Graff
