They are highly respected and accredited and the oldest and largest company of its type in the UK. Customers include individuals, distributors,dealers, public and government authorities, and services.This is a key and challenging role where you will be the companys expert and representative as the central point of contact on all aspects regarding imports, exports, customs compliance, documentation and procedures, export licencing, specialist declarationsetc.The Role* You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the import, export, customs clearance and compliance processes and procedures in accordance with HMRC requirements and regulations.* The role will build on your existing experience in freight forwarding, imports/exports and customs compliance.* You will manage relationships and communications with suppliers, freight forwarders, shippers, international logistics operators, demanding customers and HMRC regarding clearances ensuring all declarations and documentation are compliant.* The role will also entail managing release of consignments and arranging collections and deliveries.* You will liaise with UK and overseas logistics operators regarding domestic and international movements to and from suppliers in major cities, airports, seaports etc.* You will ensure correct declaration and payment of duty and VAT.* You will manage processes and communications for obtaining export licences with the Department of International Trade.* You will be responsible for keeping fully up to date with all developments, legislation and regulations concerning imports, exports, customs, tariffs, export licencing etc.The Ideal Profile:* Extensive experience in freight forwarding, imports and exports by air, sea and road.* Very experienced in Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) Systems."* Full understanding of customs processes and tariffs.* Experienced in working with HMRC regarding imports, duty and VAT.* Knowledge of export licencing and supplementary reporting with the Department of International Trade useful.* Expert in the use of the HMRC CHIEF system.* Good general IT skills. Kerridge systems experience useful.* A good knowledge of geography in major countries is essential.* Excellent communications skills and exceptionally rigorous attention to detail.* Prepared to go that extra to mile to delight customers with On Time in Full orders and full adherence to auditing and compliance procedures.
