Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within one of the leading providers of specialist care for a Deputy Manager to support in managing a residential home in Lydd.This will be for a fixed term period of 9 months with a possible extension to 12 months.The residential home is situated near the quiet sea side town of Lydd on the Romney Marsh. The service supports adults with a diagnosis of Learning Disability, Autism, Mental Health, Epilepsy and behaviours that challenge, some of whom are supported 1:1 or 2:1 during the day and 1:1 or shared hours during the night.Their aim is to support individuals in their own flats that contain a bedroom with en-suite, lounge diner as well as an assisted kitchen to develop their daily living skills and focus on promoting independence. Works are currently underway to refurbish areas of the home and ensure each individual residing in the flat has a core staff team to enhance their lives day to day.If you believe that people have a right to choose how to run their own lives with the right support, then we would love to hear from you.As a Deputy Manager you will:

Promote an enabling environment, ensuring high standards of professional practice, whilst ensuring compliance with external regulatory standards are met at all times

Be required to deputise in the absence of the manager

Provide specific management, support, advice and motivation to the staff team to ensure that the people who use are services are supported to be as independent as possible and achieve their goals. We are looking for people to join us to help achieve our aim of delivering a fantastic person-centred support service

Need to have experience of working with people who have a learning disability and can present with complex behaviours. You will also have held a supervisory role within the social care sector

Be highly flexible in your approach

Requirements:

Have experience working at supervisory level within the Health and Social Care sector

Ideally an NVQ Level 3 in health and social care or leadership and management or above

Experience working with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour

Be able to provide a hands-on approach to leadership in order to develop staff teams
