Job Description

Multi-Skilled Maintenance EngineerWorking Continental Shifts (4 days/4 off/4 nights/4 off) - Day shifts 07:00-19:00; Night shifts 19:00-07:00Pay rate: £42,000paWhats in it for mePeople Solutions are recruiting for an electrically biased Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work with our client, a plastics recycling facility based in Lutterworth.The benefits for this position include:• Pension Scheme• 20 days holiday plus statutory holidays• Death in service benefit (after qualifying period)Day to Day Duties:

  • Investigate and Repair mechanical and electrical faults and breakdowns on a range of machines including extruder maintenance, conveyor belt systems, shredders, grinders and waste water treatment plant.
  • Oversee operation and conduct inspections of static material sortation and handling equipment (including shredders, screeners, conveyor systems, filters, vibrating screens, floatation tanks, drum screens, waste water treatment, DAF separation and extruders.
  • To lead all planned and reactive maintenance activities on shift, adhering to KPIs and reporting activities undertaken to the Lead Engineer
  • Reporting into the Lead Engineer, the purpose of this role is to actively reduce downtime through timely repair of breakdowns and planned, preventative maintenance programmes.
  • Carry out daily checks and ensure delivery of planned and preventative maintenance schedule
  • Complete all documentation required relating to works completed and parts used, reporting back to inventory management team for stock control.
  • Research to understand common faults and their causes.
Essential Skills:• Qualified to city and guilds level 3 or equivalent in electrical engineering.• Have a good understanding of mechanical maintenance and able to undertake mechanical engineering works on the plant.• Heavy industrial experience would be advantageous.Desirable Experience:• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics in addition to fabrication skills such as welding, etc.• Experience of working with quality and health and safety systems.
