Job Description

HSE Manager role to support the development of the sites culture and strategy. This is a new and developing site.Client DetailsOur client operates within an extremely busy and fast paced site in Leicestershire. They are looking to hire a Health and Safety Manager to drive a positive safety culture and people focused strategy.DescriptionReporting to the Site Manager the role will involve:

  • Developing and implementing a streamlined Safety Management Systems.
  • Ensuring site management team are advised on health, safety, environment and compliance related legislation.
  • Championing HSE and ensuring legislation is correctly followed at all times on site.
  • Ensuring company standards are maintained to include fire prevention, H&S awareness, site inspections and environmental awareness in all areas.
  • Reviewing, monitoring and actioning working conditions to ensure site is compliant with H&S regulations and environmental legislation. Raising and escalating any issues to site management if required.
  • Investigating and reporting all accidents and incidents and completing necessary documentation.
  • Developing regular methods of H&S communication with all levels site management and employees.
  • Delivering action plans from HS&E audits and delegating action to resolve findings and drive best practice
  • Identifying and assessing risks at all levels and report findings to site management and via local H&S meeting.
  • Proposes new and revised processes and actions to prevent risk to the Company, staff, buildings, material handling equipment and goods.
  • Working with HR to ensure that HS&E training programmes are created and delivered across the business
  • Participating in local H&S meetings and advising on legislative issues.
  • Carrying out Occupational HS&E related surveys e.g. noise, lighting, and implement associated recommendations.
  • Preparing management reports as and when required.
  • Reviewing contractor RAMS and prepare Permits to Work.
  • Conduct Contractor H&S pre-approval checks as part of the procurement process.
  • There may be some travel to other sites for meetings, training courses and assist when required.
ProfileApplicants should be:
  • NEBOSH Qualified or equivalent.
  • Experienced in working within a fast paced manufacturing, logistics, transport or warehousing environment.
  • Able to lead teams and influence others.
  • Results driven and focused on continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communicators both written and verbally.
  • Collaborative in their approach and able to build credible relationships with others.
  • Self-motivated and keen to succeed.
  • Willing to travel on occasion.
Job Offer
  • Negotiable basic salary £45,000 - £50,000.
