Job Description

Payroll Support Officer - temporary for 6 months - Part Time 17-22.5 hours per weekHales Group are seeking an experienced Payroll Support Officer to support our client on a temporary basis for 6 months based in Lowestoft.Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • To respond promptly and accurately to questions and queries from staff received by email, telephone etc. regarding payroll and related matters.
  • To assist with the processing of the monthly payroll
  • Action any payroll amendments, and process any changes by the payroll deadline
  • To be able to calculate and process absence payments, communicate these to staff, with guidance and support from the Payroll Lead.
  • To support the administration of the pension schemes, including communicating with pension providers and staff
  • To maintain an up to date knowledge of payroll and pension legislation and requirements, including any legal changes, to ensure practices are fully compliant.
  • Any other duties that are commensurate with the level of the post
To be considered for this role you must;
  • Have previous experience of working in a payroll team
  • Experience of running computerised payroll system
  • Knowledge of IT packages including Excel & Word
  • Ability to plan, prioritise & organise own workload whilst working to deadlines
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines
