Job title: Supervisor Technician (HGV)Job location: LoughboroughRate: Up to £36,000Contract length: PermanentStart date: ImmediateClient SummaryA well known, market leading manufacturer of automobiles, buses and HGV.Position SummaryWorking closely with the team in order to create high levels of morale and focus to ensure that work is completed in a timely manner and with excellence in quality. Ensuring effective communication with the Business development Manager, Body shop Manager &Paint shop supervisor to ensure that technicians relevant working documents, drawings and specifications.Responsibilities* Supervise a team of technicians ensuring that work is carried out as efficiently as possible * Designate lead technician to stand in/cover for specified supervisory tasks during times of peak activity. * Fully brief Techs on job requirements and budgets to agreed times* Manage workshop work-in-progress versus job specification time budgets and provide timely updates on progress to CSR * Manage job issues / problems in real time to control the quality of the repair and minimise variances versus budgets * Provide diagnostic and technical assistance to technicians to speed fault diagnosis and accurately specify repair solutions * Ensure time recording procedures are complied with including correct use of X codes as per productivity policy * Carry out effective shift hand over including any outstanding repair order & customer issues * Collect formal customer authorisation prior to starting including any additional work found during repair * Be responsible for the Workshop environment, Special tools & equipment used during the shift & report any deficiencies.Benefits* Enhanced holiday package* Excellent benefits* Enhanced paternity/maternity/adoption leave* Contributory Pension scheme* Training and development opportunities* Cycle to work scheme* Discounts on High St Retailers, travel, cinema, gyms and many moreCandidate background* Significant experience of working as a technician within the motor vehicle repair industry (commercial)* Good knowledge of VOSA PSV/HGV Licence Laws and Regulations* City and Guilds, NVQ 3 or equivalent in Commercial Motor Vehicle repair * To be able to delegate work to the appropriate personnel * To be able to operate GDS and Impact systems, specific to the GVS process stages * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Immediate startsFor more information about this role and how to apply please email your CV in the first instance to or alternatively call James Bell at Shorterm Group on
