Job Description

Supervisor & Driver£14.00 - £15.00 per hour (depending on experience) - weekly pay.Hours of Work: 06:00 to 07:00 to 15:30 to 17:30 (**Saturdays are optional with shorter shifts (4-6 hours).Our client is urgently looking for a dedicated individual to manage a small team. You will complete work to a high standard. You will be proactive, customer-oriented, and have experience driving a 3.5-ton Luton van.Responsibilities:

  • Lead and work with a team to complete work to a high standard.
  • Communicate effectively with customers.
  • Load and unload the vehicle, categorising accordingly.
  • Organise waste to optimize costs and achieve targets.
  • Drive to various locations for collection or clearances
  • Work cohesively as part of a team, supporting other teams when necessary.
  • Ensure the vans are clean, presentable and maintained to high standards
  • Reporting issues with vans, booking into the garage
  • Feedback to office staff any issues/change of route
  • Leave personal phones within the van when completing work
  • Management of timed breaks (use of phones/smoking)
Skills:
  • The ability to make sound decisions.
  • Use their own initiative and support colleagues.
  • Ability to follow the run routes and complete in timely manner.
  • Understanding of the costs of tipping - ensuring cost effective decisions
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Punctual and reliable
Requirements:
  • Hold a full drivers license with no endorsements and a minimum of 5 years driving experience with NO insurance claims from driving in the past 5 years
  • Experienced in driving a 3.5 Luton box van
  • Ability to take the van home if necessary
  • Must have a personal, up-to-date sat nav, safety boots, and gloves
  • Physical fitness is a must, as the job entails manual labour.
