Job Description

Our Client based in Leicestershire is currently recruiting for a Project Surveyor to join their team as soon as possible.This is a full time, temporary role for approx 9 months and the ideal candidate will have experience working within the Public or Housing Sector and have a strong customer service attitude.The purpose of the role is to specify works to Council properties and to supervise contractors working on council properties.Responsibilities:

  • Carry out surveys to diagnose repairs, identify defects and remedies on issues including general disrepair and non-decency, causes of dampness and condensation, required improvements and other work required on council properties and estates, specifyingremedies and work to be carried out, estimating costs, preparing tender documents and commissioning work.
  • Manage capital and revenue projects and contractors carrying out works to council properties, including decent homes works, disabled adaptations, door entry, environmental improvements, estate works, parking, planned and cyclical maintenance, and othernecessary work, assessing and agreeing variations and final costs.
Requirements:
  • HNC/HND/Degree in Building Construction or related field
  • Demonstrable experience, skills and knowledge identified within thefield
  • Previous experience of working on occupied dwellings
  • Previous in depth experience of inspecting or surveying buildings, identifying defects and remedies in traditional and non-traditional buildings
  • Previous experience of effective management of capital projects, including decent homes works
