Job Description

Are you someone who is passionate about World Class ManufacturingSaint-Gobain Gyproc GMT are looking for a Lead Mechanical/Process Engineer to work in our East Leake site to lead the safe implementation of capital projects for process plant, including process design development, procurement, installation, and commissioning for our Gypsum brands, which care about building better for people andthe planet by offering solutions for walls, partitions, ceilings, and facades that deliver sustainability and performance.Saint-Gobains Gypsum solutions are represented by several brands, including Gyproc®, Placo®, Rigips® CertainTeed® and British Gypsum®. With over 13,800 employees, we provide these plaster and plasterboard solutions in 39 countries, through 100 sites.What you will be doing:

  • Delivery of process solutions to best performance at lowest cost giving due regard to safety, operability, maintainability etc.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of process plant design
  • Scope and develop initial designs and layouts for capital projects, and then expand them into detailed plans and drawings
  • Provide feasibility studies, specifications, and budget estimates for capital schemes
  • Lead the implementation of approved capital projects
  • Ensure efficient handover of projects ensuring full documentation, training, support etc.
  • Provide support to operating plants
  • Support Project Managers on major projects undertaken by GMT worldwide or existing operations to deliver installations on time and to budget
  • Commissioning of new equipment and processes
What were looking for:
  • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • Site experience (Operations and/or Multiple Project start-ups) sufficient to demonstrate expertise and leadership - experience in gypsum and/or powders and bulk solids industries would be beneficial, but wider heavy industry experience will be considered
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Design Review
  • Proven track record working in a highly automated, high speed (24/7) process or mechanical handling industry
  • Ability to influence key senior stakeholders in the business
  • Ability to drive innovation and make key contributions to industrialising R&D developments
  • Understands cultural differences and able to adapt behaviour to influence, engage with and motivate cross cultural teams
  • Experience or a general interest in contributing towards our Carbon Net-Zero and Sustainability goals would be highly beneficial
  • A willingness to travel globally
