Job Description

A newly created Financial Accountant position with varied responsibilities, working within a great team and well-established business in Loughborough.This role represents a fantastic opportunity for an up and coming accounts professional.Client DetailsMy client is a market leading organisation within the manufacturing and production industry, based in the Loughborough area of Leicestershire.Its a very stable and secure business that can offer you long term progression as well as stability with a great business in the Loughborough area.Ive worked with the business for many years and can honestly say that it is a brilliant environment and culture with awesome leadership and a great team environment.DescriptionThe role of Financial Accountant includes the following duties:

  • Responsibility to support the Business Financial Accounting activities
  • To support the delivery of monthly financial accounts, annual statutory accounts and the management external audit activities
  • To deliver accurate and timely financial information and establish and maintain a robust control environment to ensure full auditability of financial data
  • Continuous review of the Debtors Ledger and driving cash collection by resolving customers issues causing delays to payment
  • Providing assistance to Project Managers when required to resolve queries for group subsidiaries
  • Managing additions, disposals and depreciation in Fixed Asset Register
  • Processing all transactions (Balance Sheet and P&L with the exception of Sales, COS and WIP)
  • Assistance with the month end, month end reconciliations as required
  • Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and the relevant statutory accounting standards
  • Establish and Implement a control environment to underpin the accuracy of the UK financial reporting ensuring compliance with accounting standards
  • Standardise, rationalise and document the Financial Processes to achieve synergies in the finance department
  • Manage the chart of accounts and the Cost Centre structure of the Business, generating cost centre expenditure reports for the functional managers
  • Manage the Payroll interfaces between HR and ADP (Payroll provider) and ensure all payments are in line with statutory requirements
  • Contribution to strategic plans to develop UK business
  • Perform other duties within your capability, training or experience that may be reasonably requested
    • ProfileThe ideal candidate for the Financial Accountant role will possess the following skills and attributes
  • Part qualified (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or QBE
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of presenting financial data
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Leadership, motivation and influencing skills
  • Performance orientated
  • Able to work under pressure and to fixed deadlines
  • Business/Customer orientated
  • IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft office applications and MRP
