Job Description

Domestic Abuse Support WorkersAn exciting opportunity has arisen for five, adult community-based Support Workers to join a domestic abuse and sexual violence charity covering Leicestershire and Rutland. This role is open to Qualified and Unqualified Support Workers to support adult survivorsof domestic abuse.There are multiple posts covering either Leicester City or Leicestershire County. Posts covering the County require the post holder to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.There is an option to take the role as a Trainee and undertake the IDVA qualification.Various hours available, with salaries ranging from £21,875.88 to £24,781.12 (pro-rata for part-time) depending on experience and qualifications.Due to the remit of this work a satisfactory DBS is essential.Role Requirements

  • Experience of working in a paid or unpaid capacity with a relevant support, information and advice service.
  • An understanding of domestic abuse and sexual violence, and the ways in which this can affect individuals
  • An understanding of multi-agency working, including MARAC and safeguarding procedures.
  • An ability to work flexibly, as required, including evening and weekend work.
  • Experience in using basic IT programmes, email and the internet.
Role Responsibilities
  • To deliver one-to-one support to adults affected by domestic abuse.
  • To deliver group sessions to adults affected by domestic abuse.
  • Work with multi-agency processes to maintain the safety of clients.
  • To deliver training and awareness sessions with local practitioners.
