Job Description

Customs SpecialistLoughborough Permanent - Competitive SalaryScope:My client is a very successful and growing pharmaceutical drug development organisation based in the midlands, who are currently looking to hire a Customs Specialist within their Customs & Trade Compliance team. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong knowledge and experience working with customs regulations, incoterms, trade compliance and BTI submissions.Responsibilities:

  • Make accurate and time-efficient Customs declarations
  • Work with colleagues to reduce requirement for manual data entry
  • Design and implement strategies to reduce the potential for human error
  • Ensure accurate relaying of information consistent with product profile and portfolio
  • Liaise with customers and colleagues to ensure accuracy of submissions and compliance with relevant Customs legislation
  • Provide a polite and prompt response to all internal and external customer queries in order to maintain excellent levels of customer satisfaction
    • About You:
  • Experience within the import/export industry with knowledge of Customs
  • Experience completing Customs clearance declarations (multi-modal, import & export)
  • Experience writing and implementing SOPs or processes relating to customs compliance ideal
  • Able to communicate with relevant stakeholders effectively and accurately at all levels both verbally and in writing
  • Practical experience of making declarations and handling all associated tasks
  • English Language and Mathematics GCSE Level or equivalent (grades A* to C or 9 to 5)
  • Educated to A’ level standard or equivalent
