Job Description

File Handler - DA Late Notified ClaimsJob Purpose The Late Notified Claims File Handler role involves working within a team of fraud specialists and legal support staff in an open plan environment. The Late Notified Claims File Handler will run a litigated caseload of Delegated Authority late notified caseson behalf of a cross section of insurance clients. The role requires a forensic and analytical approach to dealing with evidence and attention to detail within a framework designed to deliver the most favourable outcome to our clients in a commercially soundmanner.Key Accountabilities It will be the responsibility of the Late Notified Claims File Handler to handle cases from the point of litigation through to the resolution. Responsibilities in case management include:

  • Setting initial case strategies designed to achieve the best possible results for our clients;
  • Detailed review and analysis of evidence throughout the life of the case and at key staging posts;
  • Compliance with client guidelines and SLAs;
  • Protecting our clients position in the litigation process and utilising all available avenues to secure an advantageous outcome in the litigation;
  • Undertaking advocacy where required;
  • Legal Research
  • Liaising with the Underwriting Department at Insurers and Policy Interpretation
  • Liaise with customers and witnesses as necessary
  • Liaising with CRU (where applicable)
  • Liaising with clients / other insurers / third parties
  • Negotiating settlement (where applicable)
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all client and internal MI
  • Achieve both client and Keoghs KPIs, objectives and financial targets
  • Timely and accurate maintenance of all case management systems and billing
  • Adherence to file management policies
  • To ensure compliance with the SRA Standards & Regulations
  • Adhere to the Keoghs Values
Working Hours 35 hours per weekMonday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch.Primary location for this role is our Bolton office.Recruitment Criteria:
  • Established career in civil litigation claims handling
  • Experience of running an RTA litigated caseload with a desire to move to a fraud role
  • An understanding of insurance litigation practice and processes together with indemnity principles
  • Proficient use of a case management system, MS Office suite and Outlook email.
  • Knowledge of litigation process/working knowledge of CPR
  • Good advocacy skills
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Good client care skills and evidence of working to client guidelines on a delegated basis
  • High level of analytical skills
