They offer holistic telephone and webchat advice, deliver grant applications, and ensure that clients are guided towards long-term sustainability. Thischarity plays a vital role in making a positive impact on peoples lives, and they are seeking a new team member to join their mission.About the role:As a Client Adviser, you will be the first point of contact for clients in need, offering support and guidance through various communication channels, including telephone, webchat, and email. Your role will involve conducting thorough assessments, identifyingsuitable support, and providing advice on a range of issues to individuals in difficult circumstances. You will take ownership of client cases, prioritise their needs, and manage their expectations, ensuring a positive client journey. Your responsibilitieswill also include managing referrals, conducting casework reviews, and contributing to the grant application process. In addition, you will maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.Responsibilities:

  • Act as the initial contact for new and existing clients via telephone, webchat, and email, with a focus on prioritising urgent and crisis cases.
  • Conduct holistic assessments of client needs, providing advice and guidance on various general issues.
  • Manage a full case workload, prioritising client needs and facilitating a positive client journey.
  • Sensitively guide clients towards alternative sources of support.
  • Offer emotional and practical support to clients with complex issues.
  • Assess and determine the need for case referrals to home Visiting Caseworkers.
  • Share insights and participate in team debriefs, voicing concerns when handling distressing cases.
  • Ensure clients are treated with dignity and respect, considering the importance of equality and diversity.
  • Manage referrals and responses to third-party/external organisation inquiries, adhering to regulations and client confidentiality.
  • Conduct reviews of grant applications, liaising with clients to assess their needs and making recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for data input and report preparation.
  • Manage paperwork and forms related to grants and partner referrals.
  • Contribute to the grant payment process and maintain compliance with quality standards and procedures.
Ideal Candidate:
  • Experience in casework services and handling inquiries via telephone, webchat, and email.
  • Knowledge of the welfare benefits system and the ability to identify potential entitlements for clients.
  • Significant experience working with vulnerable individuals, offering practical, long-term solutions with integrity and fairness.
  • Experience providing generalist advice on various topics such as welfare benefits, budgeting, housing, employment, and more.
  • Understanding of the charitable and grant-giving community.
  • Experience collaborating with external organisations and managing client referrals.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding, confidentiality, and data protection procedures.
