Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Ward Manager to oversee our Urology & Neuroscience Unit, based at The London Clinic’s main hospital site in London. Our Urology & Neurosciences Unit comprises of 15 patient rooms all with en-suite facilities. We provide medical and surgical care to patients with a range of diagnostics, including neurosciences, deep brain stimulation, male sexual health, nephrology, and all urological conditions. We are also pioneering in robotic treatments for prostate conditions.Job DescriptionAs the Ward Manager you will be responsible for the leadership and overall management of the department (approx. 20 staff), providing the highest standards of care and services.

  • Job Location: This role is located at our main hospital site in London, W1G 6BW (Close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations).
  • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week
  • Salary:£48,053 - £55,963 (inclusive of London Weighting), and dependent upon skills and experience.

  • Duties & Responsibilities
  • Oversee and offer advice/support to the Sisters/Charge Nurses in their role as clinical leaders to ensure high quality individualised patient care.
  • Promote and safeguard the well-being and interests of patients, relatives and colleagues.
  • Establish the components of Clinical Governance within the department according to the clinic strategy.
  • Identify, develop, and support staff training needs in line with organisational objectives.
  • Ensure policies relevant to your area are set, reviewed, and updated and that all Clinic policies are adhered to by all members of staff within your sphere of influence.
  • Monitor legibility and accuracy of nursing records
  • Skills & Experience
  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC pin.
  • Substantial experience in an acute surgical setting, including experience within a Urological and/or Neurological environment.
  • Experience of leadership, line management and development of teams.
  • Proactive, flexible and highly motivated individual who possesses strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to research-based practice.
