We are seeking compassionate people with emotional intelligence and person-centred values for the interesting and rewarding role of Waking Night Support Worker, supporting people with mental health needs in a high quality, new-build supported living servicein Duston, Northamptonshire.You will ensure that service users are enabled to make progress in their personal recovery journey and to attain goals relating to their mental health & wellbeing, independence and quality of life. You will support individuals tomove into their new homes and to become as independent as possible in managing their tenancies and all areas of daily living, and, when assessed as being able to do so, moving on into community housing.You will provide psychological and practical person-centredsupport to enable people to grow in self-esteem and confidence. You will empower people to make informed choices and to enjoy a fulfilling life by developing supportive relationships with others, make community connections and access meaningful activities.Service users will be supported for 6 to 12 months through a license agreement or assured short-hold tenancy. You must be able to demonstrate an understanding of mental health needs and the challenges experienced by people who may have experienced trauma andadverse life events. You will be committed to equality and able to practice in an inclusive and non-judgmental manner. Relevant paid or unpaid experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be offered. A relevant qualification (such as a Health& Social Care Diploma or degree in psychology) would also be desirable.Your work base will be the supported living service which is located close to Northamptonshire town centre and comprises of 10 well designed, self-contained one bed apartments, with a communallounge and on-site staff office. The Waking Night worker will be an integral part of the support team and work to support service users with all areas of support as required.
