Job Description

IBD, the Investment Banking Division of SG CIB, offers a global advisory approach focused on strategic dialogue with clients. Building on long-term relationships based on trust, IBD offers clients the whole range of services offered by SG CIB and the SociétéGénérale Group, with a particular focus on investment banking activities. SG CIB client reach is worldwide with solid local expertise thanks to our platforms in Europe (France, the UK, Germany, Italy, Iberia and the CEEMEA region), the Americas and Asia. Corporate Finance has an integrated worldwide set-up offering a comprehensive range of advisory and capital raising services to accompany its clients thanks to strong sector and product knowledge, and proven capabilities in both local and cross-border executions.The corporate finance activity is about accompanying clients on their strategic investment banking needs from mergers & acquisitions, equity capital markets transactions (such as IPO, ABBs or capital increases) and structured equity solutions (such as equity-linkedproducts). CEEMEA Corporate Finance team covers a wide territory across Central and Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, in addition to Nordics, Netherlands and the UK, in close coordination with SG country, product and sector teams. Throughout the mission, the V.I.E. will:

  • participate in all stages of the execution of Corporate Finance transactions (M&A and ECM mandates) across the CEEMEA geographies
  • prepare presentations for clients, investors and the broader investment community
  • perform financial modeling activity including valuation analyses, convertible bond impact, EPS Accretion/Dilution in M&A or ECM transactions, right issues modeling
  • work in close coordination with other country and products teams in an international deal-making environment
  • keep up to date about M&A and equity related topics and activity across the CEEMEA geographies

  • Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance
  • A previous experience in Investment Banking, in particular in M&A and Equity Capital Markets as well as within the CEEMEA geographies, would be appreciated
Language skills:
  • Fluent in English (B2-C1)
Technical, operational & Soft skills:
  • Proficient/Good command of MS Office
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Good analytical and modelling skills
  • Solid accounting knowledge
  • Solid modeling skills (e.g.: 3 financial statements mechanism, basic bridge items, etc.)
  • Solid valuation knowledge using various methodologies including discounted cash flows, leveraged buyout, trading comparables and transaction comparables
  • High degree of numeracy and well-developed analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and good time management skills
  • Insightful, reasoned, curious and ambitious to become a top quality investment banker
  • Result driven and able to perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines
The VIE assignment in a nutshell This VIE in London is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months. In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure. The VIE is a specific contract, under Business Frances eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space.
