Job Description

UX Designer - London Basic salary up to £50,000 + bonus up to 10% of salaryNew office space in WeWork Southbank Central - with free coffee & beerGreat benefits including Private Healthcare, Medicash, Voucher schemeNewcross Healthcare was founded in Torquay in 1996 and now has over 60 branches around the UK providing outstanding nurse-led care at home and highly trained healthcare professionals to the private and public sectors.Were undergoing a fundamental change in the way that we conduct our business, putting User Experience at the heart of our decision making. Youll be a key member of a small agile team where you can make a real impact, with a specific focus on improving the user experience across a variety of products. Youll be working closely with the Head of Platform and our development team to conceive, build and iterate on a range of exciting projects.What the team are working on now:

  • Were building a modern digital platform from the ground up
  • Were talking directly to users to understand their pain-points
  • Were using analytics to identify opportunities for the business to grow
  • Were designing and building mobile apps, tablet apps and web apps
  • Were creating systems to ensure consistency and to ensure we can move quickly as we grow
    • What youll be doing:
  • Conducting user research to better understand users pain-points and opportunities for improvement
  • Taking complicated user flows and simplifying them down to their essence
  • Creating prototypes to communicate solutions to stakeholders across the business
  • Thinking in terms of design systems, its a large product and we value rational design decisions
  • Polishing visual designs and collaborating with developers to ensure theyre implemented correctly
  • Context switching between high-level product strategy and low-level design details
    • What wed like to see:
  • Someone who asks lots of questions, likes to understand why and is not afraid to put their ideas forward
  • Someone who is excited by working in a small, agile team where they can make a real impact
  • Someone who can talk through previous projects and examples of their work, communicating not only the what but the why. We want to see evidence of your reasoning and thought processes, this is just as important as those pixel perfect comps.
  • Someone with experience architecting design systems to ensure speed and consistency across all interfaces
