Job Description

UX Designer Location: London (6PS)Length: 9.5mRate: £36.54 per hour (Inside IR35)Hours: 9am – 6pmREF no: 745166This client is a top 5 tech giant and one of the worlds most popular search engines.This is a hybrid role, so you will split your time between home office and the clients offices in central London. On-site you will be able to access their amazing facilities and quirky working spaces, as well as free breakfast/ lunch/ dinner, on-site gyms,outdoor spaces and roof gardens, wellness rooms and sleep pods.JOB DESCRIPTION: Independently complete end-to-end tasks that are integrated into an overarching project or program.Navigate project constraints with engineers and managers to ensure design quality achieves required results.Plan, balance, manage, and execute prioritized work, making progress independently to achieve well-defined design objectives.Independently make decisions that improve quality and/or consistency within a feature or project level scope of work (e.g., process, team, deliverables).ChallengeAddress low-to-medium complexity design and/or user problems by leveraging established Google design principles and patterns.Proactively identify, define, and communicate problems within the project or product team(s), and deliver practical and/or creative ways to fix them.Recognize when the solution being proposed is not ideal and communicate with team leads to identify alternative solutions.InfluenceDevelop relationships with one or more team(s) and contribute to cross-project collaborations by planning, navigating, executing, and communicating user needs, constraints, and opportunities.Provide training and guidance to junior UX designers.Integrate smaller teams where necessary to align assigned components of a project or program with the goals, timelines, and objectives of the overarching project or program.Leverage and improve upon team design principles and processes as needed.ExpertiseUtilize working knowledge of UX design principles, style guides, user-centered product development, user data analysis, and primary research methods and tools.Demonstrate proficient understanding of the impact of design contributions on product value, user needs, business goals, and brand equity.Aesthetic sensibilityAbility to make design decisions that increase the overall appeal of a product based on relevant aesthetic trends and appropriate application of the client and product brand styling.CraftsmanshipAbility to make design decisions that result in a coherent product, platform, or user experience, including the ability to question and assess execution, craft, longevity, and scale of designs.Data-driven designAbility to analyse information, draw conclusions, generate alternatives and solutions, and evaluate outcomes. This includes the ability to use data to add value to business planning and strategies.Interactive technologyKnowledge of how people use and interact with technology in order to influence the design, evaluation, and iterative improvement of interactive hardware and software systems.PresentationsAbility to prepare effective presentations in content and function, and to speak competently to the level of the audience.Product designKnowledge of product design principles and user-centric processes.Product development lifecycleKnowledge of the overall process for developing products. This includes knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of engineering and other functions, major phases, checkpoints, and deliverables. This also includes the ability to identify common issues andconsiderations for delivering a product.Software systems thinkingAbility to analyse situations or problems at the system level or from a broader technical or organizational perspective.
