Job Description

The RoleAre you looking for your next career move within insurance and to start your career within underwritingWe are currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity within our central underwriting function for someone to join our growing team with an opportunity to work across multiple lines of specialty business and providing direct support to a number of seniorand experience underwriters within the business.This is a great opportunity for someone working within insurance or interested in a career in insurance who has previous office experience to start a career within a specialty insurer in the London Market within underwriting.The opportunity

  1. To assist the Head of Technical Operations and other senior policy underwriters in ensuring that underwriting policies, are appropriately reviewed and queried if necessary and subsequently approved onto eNora.
  2. To support the process of policy approval ensuring clean data is entered into and out of HGS underwriting and financial systems.
  3. To act as a gatekeeper for the data quality and reporting and take ownership of the reporting and information for multiple classes of underwriting.
Responsibilities1. Underwriting Administration· Underwriting administrative tasks including document management (new business and existing), referral logging, new business tracking, and meeting minutes· Technical and processing support to Underwriters including assistance with financial reporting, underwriting template completion, audit finding implementation, and run-off administrationLiaise with Technical Accounting on reporting and responding to emerging issues 2. Managing Relationships· Liaising with agents and brokers on behalf of Underwriters· Provide professional and courteous service and support to agents, brokers, colleagues, HDI Global Specialty branch networks and clients3. Provide technical / information support to other departments4. Maintain regular dialogue with the Claims team to ensure early identification of issues and significant developments5. Support Underwriters with Team projects as required6. Reporting· Monitor KPIs and data packs provided by clients on a monthly basis· Analysis of regular reporting, data quality monitoring, preparation of account summaries, and MI tracking7. Review and consolidation of agent bordereauxSkills and Competencies soughtProblem Solving
  • Uncovers information to identify causal links. Uses a variety of tools/techniques to break down complex issues and spots trends, patterns and interdependencies between issues. Asses risks and is pragmatic when developing solutions.
