Job Description

Description of the Business Line or DepartmentGlobal Markets Business Transformation & Oversight team is one of Global Markets pillars, combining transversal and business lines dedicated functions. The teams main responsibilities are to steer the business development of Global Markets activities, drivetheir transformation and oversee their operational chains, financials and risks. The candidate will join the London-based Sales Governance & Operational Risk Management team dedicated to the Sales business line of Global Markets. Summary of the key purposes of the roleThe Sales Governance & Operational Risk Management team is responsible for implementing and managing the operational and conduct risk framework, as well as securing the business development of Sales activities by acting as a referent on Sales Supervision topics.Each member of the team is an expert and an escalation point for the business and therefore the team has a very pivotal and crucial function within Global Markets. In addition, the team supervises globally the Bribery & Corruption risks across all Global Markets activities and manages post-Brexit Sales governance topics related to the UK platform of Global Markets. The trainee for the Sales Operational Risk Management team is responsible in providing support to members of the team, with a focus on topics led by UK colleagues whose coverage include Equities & Derivatives and Cross Asset Sales. Summary of responsibilities

  • Participate in the different stages in the preparation of our projects (business/regulatory) related to Sales activities and its governance
  • Continuous support and follow up on various topics and controls related to projects followed by the team, including but not limited to: operations conduct risk, operational incidents, cross border business rules, anti-bribery and corruption, declarationsin internal tools, financial services providers, suppliers, tax evasion
  • Support the team on post-Brexit Sales governance topics, particularly in the management and monitoring of UK cross border activity
  • Support the team in the preparation of relevant Sales Governance related and ABC Committees and facilitate follow-up actions
  • Assist and follow up on IT developments where required in relation to projects involving the team to facilitate automation and process enhancements
  • Participate in the preparation of our projects regarding implementation of strategies defined by top management
  • Helping to create efficiency and streamline our day-to-day activities while preparing regular reports by leveraging on Python and/or PowerBI
  • Fully support the team on identified priority topics and ad-hoc tasks
  • Liaise with front, middle and back offices to handle operational risk management topics
Profile requiredCompetencies
  • The ideal candidate will hold a degree or equivalent in a Finance-related discipline
  • Experience in the financial services industry or consultancy advantageous
  • Excellent skills Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Basic proficiency in Python, PowerBI and/or VBA essential; advanced proficiency advantageous
  • Excellent level of written and verbal English essential
  • Fluency in French advantageous but not essentail
  • Ability to prioritise and organise own workload
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Good teamworking skills and ability to work in collaboration with colleagues within a busy professional environment
  • Good level of attention to detail
  • Desire to learn new skills and adapt to different situations
