Job Description

Junior Trader Support / Traders Assistant Candidates must have at least a core understanding of Exchange Traded Futures & Options / Derivatives and ideally some experience with one of the ISVs product (Fidessa, Trading Technologies, Stellar, CQG, WebIce, CME Direct etc.) for this role providing a mix of Business, Functional and a basic level of IT Support to the Traders.Whilst ideally in a similar role, candidates coming from a number of different backgrounds looking for a sideways move in career will also be considered including:

  • Junior Broker / Trader
  • Back Office, Settlements, Reconciliations - Someone looking for a more Front Office orientated role
  • Functional Support or Account Relationship Management
  • Trader Support / Trade Mitigation
  • IT Support Analyst - Market Data / Trade Floor Support - With some understanding of Futures & Options.
Role Overview:
  • Setting Up New Trader Accounts and Limits
  • Setting up Traders Access to the various Exchanges
  • Providing Functional Support on the Trading Systems
  • Checking and Managing Order Status - cancelling orders when necessary
  • Following up on any trade discrepancies with the Exchanges.
Ideal Skills:
  • Previous experience with Futures & Options Trading / Settlement Systems.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the ISVs products - Fidessa, Trading Technologies, Object Trading, Deltix, Stellar, ULLink, WebICE, ION / Patsystems, Trayport.
  • Exchange Connectivity - ICE / LIFFE, Eurex, CME / CBOT, Xetra, Chi-X, LME, LSE, NYSE.
Desirable but Non-Essential Skills:
  • FIX Connectivity - Client On-boarding, Support / Troubleshooting of FIX Logs / Connections.
  • Compliance and User Acceptance testing - UAT - for any upgrades
  • Providing Functionality Analysis and Implementation of New Systems
  • Other Market Data - Reuters, Bloomberg, CQG, Ateo (Teo and Lisa).
  • Any Knowledge of Windows Desktop - 10/11.
  • Managing vendor system upgrades and implementation.
  • Basic level of - Linux - RedHat, Ubuntu, Solaris, SQL.
This is a superb opportunity for someone with the core Futures & Options Business knowledge looking for a sideways move in career and would most likely suit someone that has some experience of Trading with some knowledge / an interest in IT.
