Job Description

Great opportunity for a Trade Mark Solicitor to join a leading, L500 recognised IP Department in Central London. The FirmOur client is a highly reputable practice based in Central London who have received recognition by the Legal 500 for a multitude of their specialist departments.The firm act for businesses all over the world and have a particular strength in the Financial Services, FinTech, Technology, Fashion and Media sectors.The firm boast a market-leading Intellectual Property team who advises clients across a range of sectors, including fashion, technology and fintech, publishing and food and drink, on trade mark and design management, strategy and dispute-related matters.They are looking for an experienced Trade Mark Solicitor to join their impressive Trade Mark prosecution practice.The OpportunityThe team is involved in all aspects of trade mark protection and portfolio management including clearance, filing, prosecution, oppositions, invalidations, assignments and co-existence agreements within the fashion and tech sectors.Their work is multi-jurisdictional and coordinate their clients international brand protection strategies to ensure worldwide protection.This is a brilliant opportunity for an ambitious Trade Mark Solicitor to work directly with the firms lead on their prosecution practice who is recognised as a leading individual in their field.As a Trade Mark Solicitor you will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing / drafting specifications
  • Conducting trade mark searches and providing advice on registrability
  • Reviewing trade mark and design applications
  • Preparing advice to clients on filing strategies and oppositions/cancellations
  • Assisting with all trade mark prosecution including responding to objections/refusals
  • Drafting opposition / cancellation / opposition grounds
  • Preparing evidence and witness statements
  • Dealing with the relevant trade mark registries and overseas attorneys
  • Conducting IP audits
  • Assisting with IP research
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales (1 - 4 years PQE)
  • Strong experience in Trade Mark prosecution
  • Excellent academic qualifications
