Job Description

Summary The role will support execution against the Banks strategy to modernise the technology platforms and systems whichSupport business products, digital products and services in support of (internal and external) customer journeys. The successful individual will play a key role in the Banks overall transformation.The purpose of this role is to drive delivery against the Banks multi-year IT Modernisation delivery plan across multiple different teams, provide delivery assurance, troubleshoot key delivery issues, and support the overall coherence of delivery acrossdifferent teams.Package Comp + BensMain Responsibilities

  • Drive delivery activity across the multiple delivery streams within IT Modernisation, while retaining a close collaboration and alignment with all related IT functions, Business Transformation teams, and wider Bank functions (e.g. Product, Credit, Financeetc.).
  • Administer the overarching delivery plan, identifying, understanding, and ensuring proactive management of the complex set of dependencies across different delivery streams.
  • Support the management of delivery within typical controls, such as:
    • Resource and financial management (forecasting and tracking)
    • Planning, including dependency management
    • Scope management (including change control and assessment)
    • Risk and issue management
    • Clear roles, responsibilities and decision making authorities
    • Establishment of design and delivery stage gates
  • Demonstrate clear understanding of overall business strategy and align the technology vision and plans.
  • Ensure collaboration between business and technology roles associated with the cross-functional team construct and ensure seamless alignment of business and IT imperatives.
  • Be well versed with technology and digital trends and developments in the Financial Services industry.
  • Be well versed in both Agile and Waterfall techniques, and have experience of marrying these areas in successful hybrid forms at scale.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to teams delivering transformative change against the strategy.
  • Ensure delivery is in accordance with the Banks change management methodology: all necessary documents and artefacts are in place, toll-gates are adhered to and clear auditability of key decisions made from start to finish.
  • Build effective and positive relationships with project vendors and 3rd parties ensuring optimal ways of working and clear accountabilities.
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience of delivering complex, large-scale technology change within financial services, such as:
    • Core banking replacement.
    • Delivery of a new payments platform.
    • Provision of, and migration to, a new Cloud infrastructure.
    • Modernisation of legacy technology platforms supporting important business services.
  • An understanding and experience of cloud solutions such as Azure.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Highly collaborative, with demonstrable ability to network, negotiate and influence stakeholders.
  • Ability to create a sense of community amongst disparate members of different functions/areas.
  • Ability to apply risk assessment and management principles and processes and find ways of solving or pre-empting complex risks and issues.
  • Team Player. Enjoys collaborating with, learning from, and teaching others. Assumes good intent in others, and actively does their part to make a positive work environment.
  • Ability to understand, articulate and translate customer journeys into technical design, strategy and architecture.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to produce comprehensive reports/briefings for senior stakeholders.
  • Has the ability to build effective networks with stakeholders, both internally and externally
