Technician in Construction (On the Coast)28 hours per week. 40 weeks per yearBetween £10.00 and £11.83 per hour**includes an enhancement for annual leave.This is an exciting opportunity to work at Suffolk New College at our On The Coast campus in Halesworthas a Technician within the Construction field. You will be required to provide a range of technical advice, support and practical assistance to our staff and students. You will be responsible for preparing, maintaining the equipment and materials within thepractical workspaces, alongside ensuring safe working practices. As part of your role you will contribute to the wider College health and safety activity and therefore you should have a good understanding of health and safety and be prepared to undertake trainingin these areas e.g. first aid and fire marshall.You will need to have an organised and methodical approach to ensure the smooth operations of the workspaces in order to support the delivery of an exceptional student experience. You will be able to communicateand engage with a range of audiences including young people and will work well both in a team and on your own initiative.You should have a good standard of education including maths and English at level 2 (GCSE 4/C) and a Level 2 qualification in a relevantsubject. The role will involve working in the Carpentry and Joinery area as well as in other Construction trades and therefore a specialism in Construction and the supporting practical skills is required for the role.This post is based at Suffolk New CollegeOn the Coast Campus in Halesworth.
