Job Description

Location: UK-wideIndustry: Engineering, Manufacturing, Packaging, MarkingSector: Industrial Direct Park Marking SystemsSalary: From C£35pa. However, this is negotiable, depending on current situation and job role.ProTech are currently recruiting for a Technical Sales Engineer to work for an expanding and market leading Manufacturing Company within the packaging and marking industry.Due to their ongoing growth, an opportunity has presented itself to adopt a range of direct part marking systems which, while they are very much allied to the current range of products, are a departure from the current range of machinery that they currently make and produce.Our client now has the potential to become a distributor for other similar machinery and are therefore currently seeking a Technical Sales Engineer whose main aim will be identify, attract and bring in new business for the organisation.Ideally you will have come from or currently be in a similar sales-based position within the dot peen / direct part marking industry, however this client will consider people from an Engineering background who are looking to make a transition into a Sales based role within this field.Therefore this role will require a strong Engineering and / or Sales background and a good technical aptitude in order to analyse and apply to their range of products to customer requirements.In order to achieve sales objectives, the position will require regular site visits to quote on new and existing works, and while working from home or in the office, you will respond to customer inquiries, prepare quotes, and input data into companys business management system.Technical Sales Engineer Requirements:

  • A Good understanding of various direct part marking technologies such as dot peen, impact and laser marking.
  • Knowledge of where these technologies are employed with, ideally, details of sites and contacts
  • A technical approach to selling, where the specification of the correct solution is paramount.
  • First class presentation skills both within the business and to customers.
  • The ability to grow with the business, possibly expanding the sales and support teams for this product range.
  • Technical Sales Engineer Responsibilities.
  • Planning, executing, and managing sales strategies. This will include writing and presenting regular business and sales plans
  • Continually access the total sales process to identify improvements and efficiencies.
  • Liaising with management ensuring that monthly / quarterly sales targets are met.
  • Analysing current marketplace and sales data drawing conclusions from it.
  • Contribute to team effort, research accounts and generate or follow through sales leads.
  • Assisting with or contributing to New Product Development Ideas
  • Generating new leads and developing existing customers.
