Job Description

Role: Technical editorLocation: LondonDuration: Initially for 12 months FTCBonus Plan: Company bonusSalary: £50k - £60k + benefits My Client, worlds best known leader in technology sector, famous for its search engine along with other fantastic products, is looking for a Technical editor/author/copywriter/proof-reader!As a technical editor, you edit tutorials and conceptual material targeted at end users, IT pros, and software developers who want to use enterprise products.Your primary authors are partner engineers, platform specialists, and software engineers-they are not professional technical writers, and some might not be writing in their fluent language. You transform drafts they create to address content gaps and new featuresinto polished technical documentation suitable for publication in help centres and developer sites.Job responsibilities:

  • Edit technical content for end users, IT pros, and developers.
  • Edit novice and ESL writers for adherence to globalization and localization standards.
  • Work closely with the development, partner engineering, and other internal groups.
  • Manage incoming workload, ongoing updates, and set and own all deadlines.
  • Understand, know, and update standards, templates, editorial guidelines, and globalization best practices.
Desired profile:
  • 2-3 years of experience with technical writing/editing.
  • API (application programming interface) documentation experience is a must.
  • Documentation experience for software desired or for hardware to a lesser extent.
  • SaaS (Software as a service) background is nice to have.
  • Ability to write basic code is a plus.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity. Independent. Someone who takes initiative.
