Job Description

The world around us is changing and our teams help clients remainagile and adapt to these changes and stay ahead of the competition.Skills / experience we’re looking for:We are looking for an individual who has experience in the oil & gas / energy sector in a commercial or technical role and has a strong understanding of the industry and proven capability to analyse a project’s viability.

  • A demonstrable track record as a Technical Consultant or Analyst within the Oil & Gas/ Energy sector with experience of appraising oil & gas and new energy projects.
  • Experience working in the Extractive and / or Energy industry is beneficial.
  • Experience in a consulting or advisory or research environment with a focus on the Oil & Gas/Energy sector (e.g. equity research).
  • Experience of producing project assessment or valuation reports, ideally as a competent person. You will have experience with the technical appraisal of documents to assess projects as well as on-site field work.
  • Have as a minimum an engineering or science degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Petroleum or Oil or Gas or Geo-science Engineering.
  • Be a member of a professional body (e.g. the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining, the Energy Institute, the Society of Petroleum Engineers or Petroleum Exploration Society).
  • Communication and relationship building skills with clients and colleagues.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to commercially analyse financial data
OpportunityAs a Technical Consultant you will be working closely with our Equity Capital Markets team within Corporate Finance providing industry expertise to support the team’s service delivery. You will be assisting in the management of retained clients, as wellas working on the evaluation of potential transactions such as IPO opportunities. You will typically be reviewing announcements, presentations, admission documents, transaction, or regulatory related documents, as well as meeting with management teams.The consultant is not expected to be office based. The work is on an ongoing basis, typically averaging 1 day a month spread over the month. However, the consultant should be prepared to travel (including overseas) for short trips to client operations aspart of site visits (these may be accompanied with a member of the corporate finance team), as and when required.What’s in it for youAs a member of our Agile Talent Community, you’ll have the freedom to work on projects that you choose, whether full or part time.
