Job Description

Purpose: To support Operational Procurement team in the day to day running of a fast moving, ever changingdepartment. Ensuring that all of the Manufacturing & Engineering requirements are met. Work with theManufacturing & engineering planners to ensure that all MRO requirements are current and that orders are atrue reflection of the plan. Engage with internal stakeholders and suppliers to improve and consolidate thesupplies to the factory through tendering and consolidation of commodities.Key Duties:

  • Responsible for leveraging best value for money from expenditure through competitive tendering, negotiation, supplier consolidation and preferential contract terms
  • Rigorous stakeholder support in supplier engagement & procurement, freeing up key SME resources
  • Run competitive processes to select fit-for-purpose suppliers
  • Understand business needs and profile requirement
  • Specification writing and support
  • Conduct supply market research (desktop / supplier meetings) to understand supply challenges (price, quality, availability, etc.) and shortlist potential suppliers
  • Issue applicable RFQ / RFP and manage responses
  • Analyse supplier proposals
  • Provide commercial recommendations
  • Negotiate with suppliers and recommend suppliers
  • Establish contracts / T&Cs with selected suppliers
  • Liaise with Finance to track and record achieved benefits
  • Accelerate any urgent requirements
  • Recognised as the go to person for Technical Procurement & Minor Maintenance Capital projects
  • Ensure Procurement and quality processes are managed and adhered to
  • Guide the business in any ongoing sourcing activities within their departments
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities to improve reliability
  • Explore alternative or off the shelf products to deliver value on TCO meeting
  • Performance management of suppliers, through regular supplier meetings and monitoring of KPIs to improve the quality and robustness of their service provision
  • Effectively conduct contractual negotiations with suppliers as and when required outside of sourcing processes
  • Cross skilled to assist Materials Buyer with procurement of materials required for Manufacturing
  • In tracking progress of supplier relationships, manage the basic processes of in-contract performance measurement and management
  • Support in transactional purchasing including expediting and raising requisitions as and when required
  • Complete Trackwise and Pharmaceutical quality actions in a timely manner

Knowledge and experience:
  • Proven procurement professional
  • 3 years experience in a regulated procurement role
  • Can demonstrate an ability to think creatively to solve ill-defined and complex sourcing challenges
  • Manipulation of data to improve business process and delivery of role
  • Keen analytical mind
  • Ability to work on their own without supervision
  • Proven track record of stakeholder management and engagement
  • Experience of pharmaceutical products and processes
  • Understanding of ERP systems (IFS preferably)
Training and education:
  • A level standard education or relevant or equivalent experience
  • Full or Part CIPS qualified
  • Project management experience
