Job Description

Robert Walters is seeking a Technical Business Analyst/Project Manager to join a leading bank in London on a permanent basis. The Bank has mobilised a project to deliver a new Market Data platform to replace an existing vendor platform, and the project isnow well on the way to completion and additional resources are required to meet tight project timelines. The role will involve working on further projects in the Bank to build first class solutions for business users.A Technical BA/PM with a working knowledge of instrument reference data and market data as well as an understanding of system integration is required to lead the downstream adoption of the new Market Data platform. This is a hands-on role that requires collaborationwith the existing project team and downstream systems to complete the build, assess downstream impact and manage downstream changes and testing.Key responsibilities:

  • Ownership of adoption of new platform by downstream systems
  • Engagement with downstream systems to ensure work is prioritized
  • Impact assessment with each downstream system to understand impact of new platform and associated changes
  • Using business analysis skills to identify and understand the root cause of issues identified during testing
  • Understand, document and manage publishing requirements
  • Tracking of downstream changes
  • Testing new interfaces with each downstream system
  • Managing a backlog of issues that need to be resolved
  • Management and execution of testing with downstream systems
  • Ensure environments for integration testing are available when required
    • Document environment requirements for regulatory parallel run
    • Assisting projects through the full software development lifecycle from requirements gathering, solution design, all stages of testing and finally deployment
  • Build and maintain and strong domain knowledge of the Risk and Technology architecture from a business perspective. Understanding how systems interact with each other and how data flows through those systems
Qualifications and skillset:
  • Strong knowledge of system integration
  • Working knowledge of market (timeseries) and instrument reference data
  • Experience in data system migrations
  • Experience of end to end testing of batch and real time interfaces
  • Experience of regulatory parallel runs
  • Use of JIRA or a similar software/defect tracking tool
  • A working knowledge of data comparison tools such as Beyond Compare
  • A strong, proven track record of project delivery in the financial services industry with the ability to demonstrate:
    • Working in geographically distributed software teams
    • Delivering complex functionality in a pressured environment
