Job Description

SEN Teaching AssistantPost: ASD Teaching AssistantPay Range: £80-95 per dayWorking Pattern: Full time, Term time only | September StartLocation: Hammersmith and FulhamLTF recruitment are looking for an experienced, specialist SEN teaching assistant. The correct candidate will have plenty of evidence of experience working with SEN children on a 1:1, small group and general basis. The successful candidate will work closelywith a child within the schools Special Educational Needs Provision, working with teachers and support staff to provide a nurturing, educational and enjoyable learning environment.The School Are Looking for Someone Who:

  • Holds at least one years experience working in a school environment.
  • Can easily build relationships with children who struggle to engage in class.
  • Has a TA qualification or a relevant degree.
  • Will work effectively as a team player.
  • Has a sound understanding of the KS1 and KS2 curriculums.
  • Applying a child-centred support using positive appraisals to enhance the development of the young childs learning.
  • Working alongside students in classrooms to develop relationships and provide meaningful support.
  • Confident using a EHCP plan in line with teaching bodies instructions.
The Main Duties Within the Role Will Be:
  • Leading academic interventions with children working below age expected levels.
  • Working closely with pupils who present with autism.
  • Using a visual timetable to help pupils understand what is coming next in the day.
  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis who present with a range of needs.
  • Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO around progress of the children.
  • Following the targets set on childrens educational health care plans.
  • Supporting the teaching and learning within the classroom.
