Pay: Main Teachers RangeStart Date: September 2021This is an exciting opportunityfor a passionate and skilled teacher to join a dynamic and successfulPerforming Arts Faculty. We are seeking to appoint anenthusiastic and committed teacher of Dance to teach primarily across Key Stage3 with potential for Key Stage 4-5 should the candidate be able to demonstrateprior experience or ability. A wide knowledge of key Dance practitioners andcontemporary technique is essential as our teaching and learning is underpinnedby a belief in the power of a knowledge driven curriculum. Applicants shouldhave an interest in pedagogy and the science of learning, understanding thefundamental principles of knowledge acquisition and how best we, as teachers,can structure students learning. Experience in delivering both practical,theoretical and technical aspects of Dance would be advantageous. As a Performing Arts team, we aredriven by our commitment to providing outstanding creative and culturalopportunities to all of our pupils and our schools wider community. Ourextra-curricular provision is at the heart of Towers School and the successfulcandidate will be expected to contribute to this whole-heartedly. During the 2018-19 academic year,we ran 12 school productions, including showcases, performances and concerts,as a Faculty, requiring a shared commitment from the whole team. Our clubs andenrichment opportunities will form a key part of the successful applicants roleand we are therefore looking for an individual who is passionate about Danceinside and outside of the timetabled curriculum. We are able to offer thesuccessful candidate exciting CPD opportunities as a school working towards aPlatinum Artsmark Qualification. We also deliver the Arts Award Bronze-Gold.All applicants will be considered,including those who can demonstrate outstanding potential at an early stage intheir career. It is expected that the successful candidate will hold QualifiedTeaching Status or equivalent. We would consider candidates who are unqualifiedif they hold sufficient experience delivering Dance outside of an educationsetting.
