We are looking for a teacher who will put their subject first, and who will:

Be an expert in their subject and make sure all students develop a deep understanding of the subject - in our first year this will be A level Computer Science and CTEC IT (up to the Extended Diploma)

Understand thoroughly how the subject is assessed and use their knowledge to make sure students have the knowledge and skills needed to access the top grades in the subject

Play a crucial role in developing and adapt the classroom curriculum to meet students needs

Ensure that students develop a depth and love of the subject

Share and support the academys responsibility to provide/monitor opportunities for personal/academic growth

Contribute to the enrichment offer

Monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor.

Our capacity is 600 students over Year 12 and 13. Our vision of Be the best will apply equally to staff and students. Our building will have excellent facilities, all specifically designed to meet the needs of a sixth form curriculum.Our values focus on Courage, Confidence and Commitment. Construction is well under way and scheduled to finish in the summer of 2021.Sam Hainey is the Executive Principal of the academy, he also oversees Harris Clapham, a separate school for students in Years 7 to 11, a short walk from the Sixth Form academy. While the two academies will be separate schools, there will be some natural opportunities for both to work together, for example, sixth form students mentoring and working with students in Years 7 to 11.
