Job Description

The role:An exciting opportunity for a Sustainability Operations Officer to take on a critical role in delivering a Universities objectives for an energy and carbon management plan aiming to reach a net Zero emissions reduction target by 2030.What benefits you will receive

What will your new role entailAs the Sustainability Operations Officer you will take a crucial role in delivering the Universities Net-Zero carbon reduction target by 2030 as part of their £1.2m grant partnering with two other Universities to develop and implement environmental initiativesacross partner institutions.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Coordinating, planning and implementing the ISO audit programmes according to ISO 14001 and 50001 standards in collaboration with the Head of Sustainability.
  • Preparing and deliver sustainability information and presentations to various stakeholders within and outside the University.
  • Plan and deliver awareness raising campaigns, events and training programmes. This includes promotion of awareness training amongst students, staff and contractors, encompassing all aspects of the sustainability policy.
What do you need to be successful in the role
  • A degree and professional qualification in Environmental Sciences or other related subject
  • Lead Auditor qualification to ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Standards
  • Experience of project planning and management from inception to completion
  • Good working knowledge of ISO 14001 and related standards e.g. ISO 14001, 50001 and EcoCampus
