PurposeTo work within the Climate team to enhance M&Gs climate capability and overall effectiveness of the Stewardship & Sustainability team. The Stewardship and Sustainability team is a central resource, providing services to investment, product and marketing teamsacross a range of activities, including: Building M&Gs capability, resources, articulation and credentials of Stewardship Assisting in the implementation of agreed standards for Sustainable Investment across all M&G investment teams Assisting in the oversightprocesses for integrating ESG considerations into all M&G funds Raise the profile of M&G externally by attending and in time speaking at conferences and events, and represent M&G at appropriate bodies. Improve M&Gs marketing materials Add to the teams knowledgeof Stewardship & Sustainable Investment issues and the practice of integration into the investment process Engaging with companies (alongside Fund Managers) on a range of Stewardship & Sustainable Investment issues. Record and measure the engagements and outcomes.Monitor investee company performance and alignment with strategy Engaging with clients and intermediaries on a range of Stewardship & Sustainable Investment issues. Key Responsibilities: Support the climate programme as directed by the Head of Climate Providetechnical input across multiple climate-related initiatives, bringing to bear sustainability and investments knowledge and data analysis skills Collate, analyse and interrogate, validate and visualise large datasets for broad consumption, using internal tools/solutionsand third party providers Develop informative and user-friendly dashboards using visualisation tools Work closely with the Technology team to test and validate technology solutions and climate tooling outputs Support delivery of climate reporting activity,including client and regulatory reporting, and development of M&Gs Sustainability and Climate Reports Undertake climate research on specific instruments/issuers/corporates- build narrative to inform decision making Continue to develop depth of sustainabilityand subject matter knowledge, and its applicability into investment processes across asset classes and teams. Identify areas for process enhancement within the team, and build relationships with our global investment, research and Investment Analytics teamsto identify opportunities for collaboration or process enhancement; ensure longer term operating model efficiency through effective process design. Reporting Line Reports to the Head of Climate. Direct Report None. Requirements and Experience: This role isideally suited to someone who can demonstrate: Strong sustainability knowledge with experience of its application in investment analysis Practical experience of application across a wider spectrum of business and investments, dealing with multiple stakeholdersPractical experience of development of ESG/climate subject matter expertise to embed know-how into investment teams and other stakeholders Strong quantitative and spreadsheet skills, with a close attention to detail and the ability to collate, analyse andinterrogate, validate and visualise large volumes of data for broad consumption Strong knowledge and familiarity with ESG datasets and their relative pros and cons, including but not limited to MSCI, CDP etc., and a desire to stay at the forefront of the industryProficiency with latest data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Spotfire, Cornerstone etc.) Experience of supporting corporate engagements with ESG subject matter expertise, and managing the challenges of such situations Good working knowledge and experienceof managing and interacting with NGOs/climate initiatives, and an understanding of associated reputational risks Experience contributing to climate reporting is an advantage (e.g. sustainability and climate reports and/or client reporting etc.) A team playerwho works effectively and efficiently as directed by the Head of Climate, can work and adapt to role priorities, process and messaging Good written and verbal communication skills and an ability to present complex concepts or information in a digestible formatGood planning and organisational skills with ability to multi-task and respond to changing priorities Effective problem-solving and initiative to overcome challenges and design solutions, working collaboratively and informing relevant stakeholders Abilityto build good relationships and to collaborate effectively within a team environment Integrity and strong work ethic, and a desire to continue to develop deeper sustainability and subject matter knowledge.
