Gardline are looking for Surveyors to join their offshore team.Job Title: Surveyors – OffshoreSalary: Competitive PLUS pension, BUPA and exceptional trainingLocation: Based offshore worldwide, you can be based anywhere throughout the UK but ideally near an international airport there will also be some travel to Great YarmouthJob Type: Permanent, At sea on a rotational shift pattern for circa 200 days per annum.Surveyors – About Us:We are a successful marine survey contractor, operating a fleet of dedicated geophysical survey vessels across the world. We are owned by Boskalis and are at the cutting edge of their industry.You will be required to successfully pass an ENG-1 Seafarer’s Medical. Our seagoing operations require the highest safety standards and we would wish you to be confident that you can perform duties in the best of health. Passing this medical would be confirmation that you are physically prepared to work as part of our team at sea. You will benefit from an from an excellent induction course where you will get the opportunity to complete a course covering the theories and methods of geophysical surveying.Surveyors – The Role:Here are Gardline, we are now looking to recruit a number of offshore Surveyors to join the project teams for data acquisition and processing on the fleet of offshore vessels that the company operates.The role is both challenging and rewarding in equal measure for someone with the right combination of skills and knowledge and will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to lead to a high standard.Working 12 hours shifts to include both nights and days. You will be expected to be at sea for up to 200 days per year. You may be posted anywhere in the world where Gardline vessels operate on a variety of projects for a variety of companies.Surveyors – Responsibilities:- Your main responsibilities within this role will be to undertake surveying duties on one of Gardline’s fleet of survey vessels or on a third party vessel if required- You will be required to support the surveyor in charge and the party chief onboard during survey operations- You will be required to liaise with other technical disciplines at sea, while also providing the relevant information to the party chief and the client’s representatives- You will be required to process data and compile reports for secure transfer to the office.Surveyors – Experience:- The ideal candidate will hold a recognised surveying BSc degree or a post graduate qualification in a surveying related discipline- Relevant experience in an offshore surveying environment is preferred, however, not essential for this role- Previous knowledge of Multibeam data processing, GNSS data processing along with Tidal Theory, Acoustic Theory and Geodesy would be beneficial.Surveyors – Benefits:- We look after the health and wellbeing of their staff with a dedicated well-being department- They have a sports and social club and make sure their staff enjoy things such as bowling trips and cinema visits when in port- There is lots progression within the group and people often move from offshore roles to working in the office- There is also the opportunity for development within the company and going into different roles within the business.If you are interested in hearing more about this excellent opportunity to train, work and develop with one of the foremost providers of geophysical services to the offshore energy market, please apply today!
