Job Description

The Supply Chain & Operations Manager looks after the end to end function, a key player in managing the relationship with the suppliers and responsible for the stock availability of the business.Client DetailsColefax and Fowler Limited is the main UK subsidiary of Colefax Group Plc which is quoted on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange. • Responsible for the end to end Supply Chain/Operations function of the business: Quality Control, Purchasing, Supplier Management, Planning & Replenishment, Logistics, Customer Service.
• Working closely with designs studios on new collection development including advising on initial order quantities, supplier lead times and order deadlines.
• Setting up new product codes and establishing import and export tariff codes.
• Ordering new collection stock and synchronising stock deliveries for photo shoots, pattern books and other sampling requirements in time for the launch deadline.
• Testing new fabrics for fire regulations, suitability (curtains and/or upholstery), durability, cleaning instructions etc
• Making stock replenishment decisions, raising supplier purchase orders and overseeing deliveries. Approximately 70% of purchases from suppliers are ex-works and the company is responsible for arranging transport to our UK warehouse using preferred shippingand customs clearance agents. This is the CORE responsibility.
• Working closely with good inwards staff on the timing of warehouse deliveries and assisting with quality control issues.
• Making a particular effort to prioritise delivery of items which are on back order (i.e. out of stock items with customer orders waiting).
• Assisting customer service staff with stock enquiries, back orders, technical queries, quality issues and (rarely) complaints.

Profile

• +10 Years of experience in Supply Chain/Operations Management in the FMCG Industry.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• The candidate must be efficient and well organised, with very good attention to detail and an ability to work under pressure at certain times.
• The manager needs to be highly numerate and make decisions based on stock cover, supplier lead times and expected demand. It is potentially well suited to an individual with an accounting background.
• Highly skilled in Supply Chain Planning and Replenishment - A crucial responsibility is overseeing stock replenishment decisions as these have a major impact on cash flow, customer service and obsolete stock. Stock replenishment decisions are based on stockappraisal reports which are used for forecasting demand and assessing levels of stock cover.
