In so doing, they seek to make a positive, sustainable contribution to both the UK economy and society.On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a Structured Products Middle Office Analyst for a 6-month long contract (with potential for extension) based in London (hybrid).Purpose of the role:The SPMO mandate is to support the Structured Credit Front Office. SPMO also supports a variety of other Fixed Income desks where complex structures or ad-hoc bookings are involved, including Global Macro IRFXLM products.The team supports a portfolio of complex transactions to ensure each of them is booked accurately and all lifecycle events (coupon payments, substitution, restructure, credit events etc.) are properly processed.The SPMO Analyst is accountable for the delivery of operational activities for the existing deal stock as well as coordinating new business across all the related Business lines.As a Structured Products Middle Office Analyst, you will be:

  • Checking if deals are represented correctly in the Banks booking systems, conformed to all legal documentation terms, and adequately stored and controlled throughout the transaction lifetime
  • Coordinating all settlements during the lifetime of the structures with various Operations teams to ensure successful settlement
  • Ensuring that all allocated Level 1 and Level 2 controls have been performed on new structured transactions, and recorded in the relevant monitoring tool
  • Setting up reminders for the transaction lifecycle, ensuring appropriate controls and invoice tracking
  • Performing reconciliations and controls on coupons, repo rolls, waterfalls, as well as investigating and resolving breaks and queries with the guidance of more senior colleagues
  • Producing transaction specific documentation
  • Coordinating relationships with the business to identify business requirements for new structures, coordinating the operational setup, providing appropriate operational support and representing Operations at Approval committees with the guidance of moresenior colleagues
  • Contributing to the development of the control framework to ensure the appropriate management of operational risks
  • Coordinating activities with other internal and external clients to ensure the smooth delivery of operations processes
  • Supporting the implementation of new system functionalities and focus on IT deliveries required for bug fixing or system enhancements
  • Ensuring accurate and timely processing of rebooking initiatives and migrations
What were looking for:
  • A relevant university degree, although may have progressed into the role via equivalent business experience in a top tier investment bank or similar
  • High degree of interest in the industry and product and process issues affecting the department
  • Previous experience in projects coordination
  • Knowledge and understanding of operational risk and permanent control framework
  • Understanding of settlements, PNL and accounting processes
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate technical concepts and provide specialist guidance and advice to others
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritise workload and escalate issues to management.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detailwith ability to review and improve work
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritise independently
  • Good stakeholder management skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Computer literacy and a good knowledge of standard computer software and able to learn and utilise specialist applications appropriately
  • Good written and oral English skills in order to articulate technical issues associated to work area
